Alexa - Phoenix, AZ Newborn Phototgrapher

Some of you might remember a Newborn Contest we did back in March. I'm so happy to announce Alexa was born earlier this month! Her parents had been trying to have a baby for 10 years and she's the answer to their prayers. She was a doll and did great during our session, slept most of the time. I feel so lucky to be part of their journey and document this joyous time in their lives. Here are just some of her pictures from our session...

Newborn Colton - Chandler Newborn Photographer

Photographing this newborn was certainly a treat! This 4 day old newborn belongs to a wonderful friend of mine. His two older brothers are super excited to have him join the gang, you may remember them from this previous session. Their house if full of all kinds of boy toys ready for him to play with. So, when I showed up for our session the boys had left their play mat along with cars, trains and planes where out. How much "boy" can you get?!

He gave me lots of sweet baby smiles!

Newborn Jameson - Mesa, AZ Newborn Photographer

I'm not going to lie, I didn't want to leave this session. Jameson was a perfect newborn. No peeing or pooing occurred during our session and he was such an awesome sleeper. Ah, just perfect and snugly! Here are some of his newborn pictures we captured...

Lost Baby Tooth - Mesa, AZ Family Photographer

After two weeks knowing that Spencer was about to lose his first tooth... it finally happened and I cried. The thought that his little baby smile was gone forever it put into perspective how much he's changed and really growing up.

On Tuesday he came up to me crying because he'd been fighting with his little brother. Then all of the sudden I noticed he had blood dripping down his chin. I asked him if his tooth fell off, but he said no. So, I checked and sure enough it was gone. I had to retrace his steps, but thank goodness we found the tooth. He felt like such a big boy and was so excited to have to Tooth Fairy visit our house. Here's his new smile...

Album Design - Phoenix, AZ Photographer

Occasionally, I get to have fun and design something truly unique and special for my clients. I love designing all sorts of fun things, from albums to storyboards! I thought I would share these designs I've done recently. I designed two accordion books for two different clients. If you've never seen an accordion book it's just like it sounds, it's a book that opens like an accordion. :) (they were both designed with the babies info on them, but I decided to cover it up for privacy.) Isn't this a wonderful way to keep pictures from their newborn photo sessions?!

And apparently I was on some sort of grey kick! LOL

The Pro Lab vs Your Local Printing Place - Mesa, AZ Photographer

Don't think pro print labs make a difference? Think you can take that disc to Walmart or Walgreens and get the same quality??? Check this experiment by Wendy L White Photography. If you are a previous client, a future client, or if you've ever hired a photographer. Photographers spend so much time making sure the image is perfect for printing. You are already paying for their editing time so why get less quality?

One Year Older - Scottsdale AZ Photographer

This past Monday I turned one year older and one year wiser just like that! I was able to celebrate over the weekend with my husband. He asked what I wanted to do and I said just go out to a dinner and a movie. Seems simple, but with 3 kids and a busy schedule it's sometimes hard to do. We've resorted to ordering out and staying up late watching movies as our dates in the last couple of months. I actually like that a tad better since I can fall asleep whenever I want... usually half way through the movie. lol But I have a serious popcorn addiction and well... it needs to be fed so often. So off to dinner and a movie we went.

On Monday, we went out to eat at one of our favorite places Gramaldis Pizzeria. If you sign up for the birthday club you get a free pizza on your birthday! So, we couldn't pass that up.

As we were finishing up Spencer asked if we were going to get ice cream afterwards. We have been going over to Sugar Bowl for dessert whenever we eat at Gramaldis. I couldn't disappoint a 5 and 4 year old. After ice cream, Spencer said "well, it can't be your birthday if you don't have a cake." I was starting to see he was trying to take advantage of my special day and get all the junk food he could have. lol

The nice thing about having a 5 year old is handing over the camera to get a picture with Tyler. Here's his first try...

Future photographer in the making...

Tyler knows that anything with strawberries is my favorite!

A number five should suffice, right?
