Tempe AZ Family Photographer

A couple of weeks ago I blogged about how I had gone to downtown Tempe scouting locations. Before I showed up at the session I had a vision on what we were going to do. But as we started walking I spotted a location that I hadn't seen. So half of what I had planned for our session went out the window. But sometimes you just have to go where the inspiration takes you. Here are some of the pictures...

I normally prefer photos as they are and not overly processed. I think this is a timeless look and won't ever go out of style. But as I processed this image and I felt like it called for a vintage look. Something sweet and I'm loving how it turned out.

Birthday Party - Chandler AZ Familiy Photographer

Lebby emailed me a few weeks back wanting to schedule a photo session, she mentioned how 2 of her kids and her were having birthdays in April and wanted to have balloons, hats, and cupcakes. She also said she wanted to bring some games. I got really excited with her idea and just brought a few more props. I knew she trusted me from working with her twice before. (click here to see one of her sessions.)

They played with bubbles, Uno Attack, ate cupcakes and were silly. It was really so fun to capture how they are together as a family at this time and talking to the kids and seeing how they've changed in the past year. I left the session feeling very much like I was leaving a party. So here are just a few pictures to try to tell the story...

Can you tell who won?!

Birthday Party - Chandler AZ Familiy Photographer

Normally, I post my first sneak peek on Facebook, but Facebook messes with the colors of the photos sometimes. And this is one of those times and I couldn't stand it. So here's what it's suppose to look like. :)

Before and After - Chandler AZ Family Photographer

I love editing pictures. I never quite know how I'm going to edit pictures until I open then up and see where the inspiration takes me. I always like to flip back and forth and see what a big difference editing a picture can some times make.

Well, Danielle asked me a few times before our session about photoshoping images if Josh, her 18 month old, got hurt. I said for sure, not a problem. Of course a week before our session he got hurt and had a couple of scabs on his forehead for our session. Per Danielle... he was right on schedule. lol

Well, we decided to take a family picture, and to be honest Josh was not excited about smiling. There was just too much going on around him pay attention to me. So, I had to work the smile out of him. I started acting silly and playing with his snacks, popping some in his mouth and quickly snapping away as this made him smile. So I thought I would share this before and after picture.

This picture is straight out of the camera and is unedited...

This is the edited version...

Thank goodness for Photoshop!

Searor Family - Chandler AZ Family Photographer

I had so much fun with this session. We ran around, road rides, and there was even candy for Josh, the little guy! We also took pictures of Danielle's belly, she is due next month and I can't wait to meet her new addition! She was brave enough not to find out what the sex of the baby is! So, the suspense is killing me. ah Here are some pics from their session...

This photo cracks me up as we were doing a different silhouette picture and Joe tells me he wants to do one with Josh upside down! lol Josh wasn't very excited about it, but we all had a good laugh.

One Year Older - Scottsdale AZ Photographer

This past Monday I turned one year older and one year wiser just like that! I was able to celebrate over the weekend with my husband. He asked what I wanted to do and I said just go out to a dinner and a movie. Seems simple, but with 3 kids and a busy schedule it's sometimes hard to do. We've resorted to ordering out and staying up late watching movies as our dates in the last couple of months. I actually like that a tad better since I can fall asleep whenever I want... usually half way through the movie. lol But I have a serious popcorn addiction and well... it needs to be fed so often. So off to dinner and a movie we went.

On Monday, we went out to eat at one of our favorite places Gramaldis Pizzeria. If you sign up for the birthday club you get a free pizza on your birthday! So, we couldn't pass that up.

As we were finishing up Spencer asked if we were going to get ice cream afterwards. We have been going over to Sugar Bowl for dessert whenever we eat at Gramaldis. I couldn't disappoint a 5 and 4 year old. After ice cream, Spencer said "well, it can't be your birthday if you don't have a cake." I was starting to see he was trying to take advantage of my special day and get all the junk food he could have. lol

The nice thing about having a 5 year old is handing over the camera to get a picture with Tyler. Here's his first try...

Tyler knows that anything with strawberries is my favorite!

A number five should suffice, right?
